Passaic County Democratic Committee Selects 2025 County Commissioner Candidates *****

Party Leadership from all 16 Passaic County Municipalities Unanimously Selects Christina Schratz & Mike Ramaglia for 2025 Democratic Ticket

Woodland Park, NJ- February 8th, 2025-- Passaic County Democratic Chairman John Currie and the Passaic County Democratic Committee have selected Christina Schratz of Passaic City and Mike Ramaglia of Pompton Lakes as the 2025 Democratic Candidates for Passaic County Commissioner. The elected Democratic Chairpersons of all 16 municipalities were present for a candidate screening and vote by secret ballot, which was unanimous in support of Schratz and Ramaglia. Schratz and Ramaglia will seek to replace sitting Commissioners Pat Lepore and Terry Duffy, who are retiring from public office after long careers on the Board of Chosen Freeholders, now the Board of Chosen Commissioners.

In addition to Schratz and Ramaglia, Gilman Choudhury, Dania Martinez, and Dr. Lilisa Mimms screened for the two open positions. “Today we had five highly qualified and dedicated candidates screen to join our Democratic Ticket for County Commissioner”, Currie stated. “I want to congratulate Christina and Mike on their selection. They have proven themselves as leaders both within the community and within our Democratic Party over many years, and will bring invaluable experience in management, finance, and community service to benefit the residents of Passaic County. It’s unfortunate we could only select two of these candidates, as all of them possess excellent credentials and records of leadership and service in their own right. I thank them for their initiative, and look forward to continuing to work with all of them for the betterment of Passaic County, and for the continued success of our party in providing the sound leadership and proven results that our constituents deserve.“

Welcome to Passaic County Democrats ★

Welcome, from Chairman John Currie:

John Currie

Passaic County Democratic Chairman

Dear friends,

Passaic County is a special place.  From the 3rd largest city in our state in Paterson, to the vast woodlands and watersheds of West Milford, and everything in between, it is truly a cross-section not just of New Jersey, but of America.  Many of our residents have deep family roots here spanning back several generations, while others look to us as a destination to lay the foundation for a new and prosperous future.

The Passaic County Democratic Committee, and I as Chairman, hold the firm belief that there is a place for everyone here, and are committed to providing the best services and quality of life possible for every one of our residents.  Public safety, maintaining and upgrading county roads and parks, workforce development and job training, social services, and a top-rate Technical High School and Passaic County Community College are just some of the services Passaic County provides for our residents.  We know you work hard for your money, and are proud to have a strong record of sound financial management while providing quality services, as recognized by multiple independent credit agencies.  Under the guidance of the Democratic Board of County Commissioners, Passaic County has had no tax increase for five of the past 6 years - better than any other county in New Jersey.
